KBC investors to get €1 billion payout after sale of Irish business

The company, which is withdrawing from the Irish market, recently offloaded a large group of loans to Bank of Ireland

KBC will return €1 billion to investors as a result of selling its Irish operations, the lender has announced.

The firm which is based in Belgium, said that the payout will either be by way of a share buyback or extraordinary dividend, or both, subject to approval from regulators at the European Central Bank.
