Ireland to overhaul corporate tax system after pressure from multinationals

Major changes to how multinationals are taxed in Ireland are expected within 15 months, the Department of Finance has confirmed.

The government has admitted that the country’s method of collecting corporate taxes makes it a “clear outlier” globally.

The department has said it will legislate for a new way of levying corporate taxes on multinational companies by early 2025, paving the way for significant structural changes after years of pressure from businesses and lobbyists.
