Iceland UK seeks answers from franchise partner in Ireland after store closures and protests

The UK-based owner of supermarket chain Iceland has said it is seeking clarity from its counterpart in the Republic of Ireland following the closure of a number of stores earlier today.

In a statement, Iceland Foods said it had been made aware that its franchise partner Metron Stores Limited had appointed an interim examiner in the High Court on Tuesday.
