Flooding is becoming a much more frequent event – and insurers are less and less willing to cover it. Here’s how to keep your home and business protected

Reflecting on the havoc wrecked by Storm Babet, Paul McMahon described the scenes in Midleton in the past fortnight as “biblical”.

McMahon, who lives in the area, is a compliance auditor with Campion Insurance, the insurance broker. He has seen the damage first hand through two different lenses: as a friend and neighbour, and as an expert in the field of risk assessment.

“People from the Main Street in Midleton have basically lost everything,” he told the Business Post.
