The government is prepared to offer state aid to companies like Intel that want to expand in Ireland, the finance minister has said.

Michael McGrath said the government and IDA Ireland are in “ongoing discussions” with US computer chip maker Intel about its development plans in Ireland. But he would not comment on press reports that the tech giant is in advanced talks with a private equity firm to build a manufacturing plant here.
