The Health Minister has defended the head of the HSE’s criticism of next year’s health budget saying Bernard Gloster was “absolutely within his rights” to raise concerns over the level of funding.

Stephen Donnelly was addressing the Dáil on Thursday amid coalition tensions over the funding package provided in this year’s budget and a €1.5 billion deficit which is likely to be repeated next year.
