GNC, a global health and wellness brand, sees potential expansion opportunities in Ireland, including through franchising, according to a senior executive at the company.

Last week the company opened its first shop here at the Frascati Shopping Centre in Blackrock, Co Dublin.

The US-headquartered company, which was established in 1935, currently operates in over 50 countries, with around 4,000 stores globally.

“Ireland has always been a market we have been interested in. The Irish wellness market marries up to our strategy,” Cheri Mullen, SVP chief international officer at GNC, told the Business Post.
