‘Genuinely farmed’ sites given no exemption from new land hoarding tax

Farmers have been given no assurances that they will be granted exemptions from the new land hoarding tax due to come into effect next year.

As part of the government’s flagship Housing for All policy, the Residential Zoned Land Tax (RZLT), levied at 3 per cent on a site’s market value, from February 2024.
