Exports of Irish spirits grew by 17 per cent in value to a record level of €1.45 billion last year, according to a new report by Ibec group Drinks Ireland | Spirits.

The value grew at a time of rising inflation.

However, in volume terms, global sales of Ireland’s three protected Geographic Indication (GI) spirits, Irish Whiskey, Irish Cream and Poitín, grew by 5.7 per cent in 2022.
