EirGrid confirms routes for three underground electricity cables across Dublin

Three high-voltage cable circuits will link electricity substations from Finglas to Carrickmines in a move that will ‘futureproof Dublin’s power’

Eirgrid, the operator of Ireland’s electricity system, has confirmed the routes for three high-voltage underground cable circuits, signalling the start of disruptive work in several areas of the capital as part of its Powering Up Dublin programme.

In a statement on Tuesday, Eirgrid announced routes for cables linking electricity substations between Finglas and North Wall, North Wall and Poolbeg and Poolbeg and Carrickmines.
