Editorial: China’s economic woes could have repercussions for us all

What ails China? After years of spectacular growth, the world’s second largest economy – or largest, depending on how you measure it – seems to have fallen into the doldrums. Its construction industry, which fuelled much of that growth, has almost ground to a halt, youth unemployment is alarmingly high, as are corporate debt levels, and the Communist Party is struggling to figure out what to do.
