Decline in house building softened last month

A new analysis notes that consumers buying new homes are benefiting from ‘substantial state subsidies’, which are bolstering activity in the market

Activity in the Irish construction sector fell for the seventh consecutive month, but showed some promise of improvement, a new analysis has shown.

The headline BNP Paribas Real Estate Ireland Construction Total Activity Index for January - which tracks changes in the total volume of construction activity compared with one month previously - remained below the crucial no-change 50.0 at 45.9.
