CRH post 14 per cent earnings jump as US market powers ahead

CRH said in April it expected sales, earnings and margins for the first half of 2023 to be ahead of the same period last year.

Earnings at construction giant CRH soared 14 per cent higher to $2.5 billion in the first half of 2023 compared with the same period a year earlier as the US market continued to boost the group’s performance.

Sales rose by 8 per cent to $16.1 billion in the first six months of the year but profit fell from $2.1 billion to $1.8 billion.
