Cost of secondary school over €3,500 a year - report

The cost of secondary school education has soared by more than €700 to €3,581 over the past 12 months, according to new estimates from Zurich.

The figure, which includes the cost of school books, transport, and after-school clubs, is up from €2,818 in 2022.

Some 28 per cent of parents have taken out a loan to help pay for their children’s secondary school costs, according to Zurich’s annual Cost of Education survey.
