Children’s Health Ireland disputes receiving letter on controversial surgical techniques
CHI have released a statement saying the letter was never received and calling into question its veracity
Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) has strongly disputed that it received a letter seeking guidance on the use of controversial surgical techniques and “off label” devices.
The letter was raised in the Dáil today by Mary Lou McDonald, the Sinn Féin leader, who sent it to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
CHI has said the letter and its origins are now the subject of an independent investigation.
