Matt Carthy, a Sinn Féin TD for Cavan and Monaghan, has written to Kai Dai asking for a meeting to discuss the future of the Nuremore Hotel in Monaghan

Matt Carthy, a Sinn Féin TD for Cavan and Monaghan, has written to Kai Dai, one of Ireland’s biggest cash-for-visa brokers, to ask him for clarity over the future of the Nuremore Hotel in Co Monaghan.

The hotel, which Dai bought in 2018, was recently the subject of a sit-in by workers demanding payment after months of persistent delays in pay cheques being issued.

Carthy attended an impromptu sit-in by workers at the hotel earlier this month, and wrote to Dai asking for a meeting to discuss the hotel and its future. So far he has received no reply, Carthy told the Business Post.
