Bricks and mortar spending improves but costs a concern

The past couple of years have seen a huge change in the retail landscape, with familiar stores departing the Irish market while being replaced with high street and luxury international brands.

Retailer brand expansion in prime retail locations, resulting in an expectation for higher rental evidence combined with the inflationary impacts to retailers’ margins, is creating an interesting ‘tug of war’ scenario between landlords and tenants.
