Analysis: Diageo’s price hike in face of rising profits will leave sour taste in consumers’ mouths

Price change may be small, but the cost in consumer loyalty could be huge as many publicans consider exploring new offerings

In the grand scheme of things, it really isn’t a lot of money.

It would take a consumer 25 full pints of Guinness before there was an extra €1 out of their pocket, or a light day’s drinking by Paddy Losty’s standards.
