Paschal Donohoe, the Minister for Public Expenditure, was struck by the surprise attack by Palestinian militants on Israel during the final stage of the budget process.

He and Michael McGrath, the Minister for Finance, had a busy day meeting officials, fellow ministers and the party leaders to finalise Budget 2024 ahead of its publication today.
