AIB appoints David McNamara as its new chief economist

McNamara will join the lender from EY, where he currently serves as director of the firms economic advisory team

David McNamara has been appointed group chief economist at AIB

AIB has appointed David McNamara, a director in EY’s economic advisory team, as its new group chief economist.

McNamara will take over from Oliver Mangan, AIB’s long-serving chief economist who is retiring from the bank.

In a statement, AIB said McNamara will join the bank’s Economic Research Unit and will be responsible for shaping the lender’s macroeconomic research, insights and analysis that it provides to investors and customers.
