Analysis: Fianna Fáil wrestle back political narrative after weeks of Fine Gael reset

At the party’s Ard Fheis in Dublin Fianna Fáil sought to re-establish its authority following Simon Harris’s long ascent

The drawn out arrival of Simon Harris into the taoiseach’s office over recent weeks has required Fianna Fáil to patiently sit back and allow Fine Gael to bask in the limelight.

But as the 82nd Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis got underway at the Dublin Royal Convention centre this weekend, the party was clearly getting restless and looking to wrestle back some of the public’s focus.
