Since 2016, American jurists, analysts and constitutional scholars have been fretting about the threat former president Donald Trump poses to America’s democratic institutions. With good reason, admittedly – after all, he did his damnedest to overthrow the 2020 election and he’s made no secret of his plans for a second term.
