Marie Sherlock: High time the government matched reproductive health supports with paid time off

Every year in Ireland, approximately 14,000 Irish women will experience an early miscarriage and one in six couples will have challenges conceiving.

Early miscarriage, menopause, infertility – none of these are illnesses and yet the existing workplace regulations in our country mean that thousands of women each year have to hide behind sick leave or are forced to take annual leave to deal with what can be very traumatic and difficult situations in peoples’ lives.
