Lucinda Creighton: Cameron’s appointment is a disaster both in terms of politics and diplomacy

Rishi Sunak has done a reasonably good job of stabilising the British government in the aftermath of the tumultuous Johnson era.

He has proven himself to be understated but pragmatic in his dealings with the European Union, dealing with the outstanding Northern Irish Protocol issues decisively and stepping up to provide leadership on foreign policy issues, particularly the war in Ukraine.
