Idea of raising 9 per cent Vat rate on tourism is ‘nonsensical’

Last week, in an article in this newspaper, it was argued that the 9 per cent hospitality Vat rate should be “unwound” and that there is “little economic argument for it to be retained”. Tourism industry leaders would strongly disagree.
