Taxes are one of life’s inevitabilities. For frontline media folk, however, there can be considerable jeopardy in the way in which they are paid.

Recent reports about Alan Parry, the Sky Sports commentator, are a salutary warning to those on contract. Parry has been a commentator for many years, trading as an independent contractor through Alan Parry Productions, a limited liability company. This means he invoices Sky for payment.
