The main takeaway from a recent CSO report entitled Measuring Ireland’s Progress 2022 was that the country’s population has exploded over the past decade.

Excluding the tiny states of Luxembourg and Malta, Ireland has experienced the sharpest increase in the EU. The population has increased by 15 per cent since 2013, or by almost 667,000 people. Most of this was driven by inward migration.
