Wrky, a Dublin-based software business, is focusing on international expansion, with the US, UK and Europe markets in its sights for 2025.
Wrky, founded in 2022 by Brian Slattery, Barry Gordon, and Paddy Doyle, has developed software to help companies improve staff retention and management. With a team of 13, the company has secured €3 million in funding.
“It’s a science-based platform that empowers senior leaders with real-time employee feedback. We transform those insights into actions to build thriving, engaged workplaces,” Slattery told the Business Post.
“We’ve started to grow our footprint in the US and got an opportunity with Heineken globally now”
“The platform collects people's feedback from various different sources. This can lead to insights into understanding whether people are likely to leave a business or if something can be changed to aid productivity.”
Wrky’s platform uses information from channels such as Slack or staff surveys to give business leaders information and advice on what actions can be taken. Slattery developed the idea while lecturing in behavioural science in Dublin City University.
“I spent 20 years working in research on collecting data and how to make decisions around data related to people. Barry Gordon is a long-time friend and a gifted engineer. We met Paddy Doyle through a connection in Enterprise Ireland,” Slattery said.
“Paddy has a long background of success in HR tech and other areas.”
The business has grown its customer base organically, with word of mouth helping it to add clients.
“We’ve expanded our offering and the type of conversations we have with companies,” Slattery said. “We’ve started to grow our footprint in the US and got an opportunity with Heineken globally now.”
“We’re going through a proof of concept pilot phase with them. If that goes well, we could scale globally with them.”
In addition to introducing him and Gordon to Doyle, Slattery said that Enterprise Ireland had provided significant help to the business.
“They’ve been a huge support. From inviting us to events to meeting their teams on the ground, it’s been great. We have great relationships with their UK, Nordic and US teams,” he said.
While Slattery hasn’t ruled out raising additional funding in the future, it’s not on the short-term agenda for the business.
“Raising money is always on the horizon. You always have to think about that but there’s a lot of admin with that. Our focus now is on scaling our tech,” he said.
“We’re bringing in customer feedback and insights alongside employee feedback. We’re resonating with retail, manufacturing, construction and engineering. With those front-line workforces, customer and employee feedback go hand in hand."
The main focus now is on its international expansion, with Slattery seeking to firmly establish Wrky across its three core territories.
“We want to be established in the US, UK and Europe. This year, we’re targeting €1 million in revenue,” he said.
