Revealed: private firms pull Dublin Bus route bids

Plans to privatise 10 per cent of Dublin Bus routes are in tatters after two major transport operators pulled out of a competition for the contract.

British giant National Express has pulled out, as has a consortium between Irish company Dualway and major French operator RATP Dev.

That leaves just Dublin Bus itself, Luas operator Transdev and two other international companies in the running for the routes.
