The High Court judge appointed to oversee the Commission of Investigation into IBRC, which includes the acquisition of Siteserv by Denis O’Brien, is suspending the inquiry until after the general election.

He hopes new legislation will be implemented by then to allow the job to be completed.

Mr Justice Brian Cregan has written to a small number of parties stating that he does not expect to begin his work until after the election.
