Sterling has risen for a third consecutive day, approaching a three-week high against the dollar, as a new opinion poll showed that almost 65 per cent of voters believe the UK will remain in the European Union afterthe June 23 referendum.

Sterling rose 0.1 percent to just under $1.47 this morning, having climbed to $1.4729 on Wednesday, the highest level since May 3.
