More than 50,000 Americans have now died from the coronavirus, but President Donald Trump is doubling down on his ignorance – with a side order of disinfectant

Last week, the US passed a grim milestone. The official number of Americans known to have died from the coronavirus exceeded 50,000. Because of widespread discrepancies in how Covid-19 deaths are counted and certified, the true number is widely believed to be significantly higher.

By next weekend, as America prepares to restart its economic engine, the number of coronavirus deaths in eight weeks will exceed the number of US soldiers killed during the entire Vietnam War....
