The US Supreme Court has refused to strike down a Texas law that prohibits abortions after six weeks of pregnancy and provides for its enforcement through lawsuits by private citizens instead of state officials.
But one aspect of the court’s Friday ruling, which allows abortion providers in Texas to continue their legal challenges at a state level, has been called “a narrow victory for abortion rights”.
