The first season of the Emmy-winning docuseries Cheer documented the trials and tribulations of Navarro College's competitive cheer squad in the United States, as they battled for the coveted title of NCA College National Champions. Each squad member detailed their insecurities and difficulties, creating a powerful bond between the cast and the viewers. The show turned coach Monica Aldama and members of her team — Lexi Brumback, La’Darius Marshall, Morgan Simianer, Jerry Harris and Gabi Butler — into celebrities. Last year, however, Harris was arrested on multiple federal sexual misconduct charges – the new season reportedly deals with those allegations and their aftermath. JMB
