The government has yet to decide the age limit for young people using e-scooters on public roads, it has emerged.

Last week, the road traffic bill to legalise the use of the vehicles on Irish roads was introduced into the Dáil. But even though it makes it an offence for shops to sell e-scooters to a person aged under 16, there is no provision as yet for an age limit for using them.
