Think back to when the euro was introduced in 2002, and you might remember the transition from the old currencies being generally smooth.

Yet in the business world, it and the response to Y2K paved the way for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to become a part of business life. Since legacy systems weren’t flexible enough to deal with these changes, many companies at the time decided to replace their old systems with ERPs.
