Sharing data removes borders in fight to save environment

As Ireland moves into an era of renewable energy, open data can help companies adapt. “For me, open data has really opened up the benefits of understanding data, and it has taken away borders,” said Trevor Alcorn, GIS specialist at the marine and coastal unit of Geological Survey Ireland.
