PIAs help identify the risks to the privacy rights of individuals by assessing how their personal data is collected, used and disclosed. If there’s a high risk to the personal data you process, a PIA must be carried out before you start processing personal data. The focus is always on the rights of the data subject, rather than you as the data controller or processor.
