Coming home to a rollercoaster town
The IT resurgence in Cork has seen experienced professionals come home after lengthy spells away from the city.
Dermot Reidy, regions manager at BT Ireland, is from Bishopstown originally, but despite growing up in the city and getting his degree there too he had little option but to leave when he finished college.
“I left UCC in 1987; it was hard to get a job in Cork at the time. I was out of Cork for almost 25 years before coming back in 2011,” Reidy told Connected.
