Picture the scene: an executive is sitting poolside when a market-moving event occurs. What to do? Would he even hear about it? Let’s say he did: running back to his hotel room, he dials the office and gives an order — buy more widgets, or maybe sell them, who knows? — but it’s too late. The damage is done. The enterprise is mobile, all right: downwardly mobile.
