Big changes afoot in web domain registration

It’s currently a tricky process to register a .ie domain, but new rules will cut through the red tape

March will see massive changes to the way businesses and consumers register a .ie domain name, a move that domain registrars and business groups hope will help get more SMEs selling online.

The current rules make registering such a domain a challenging process: users must not only show a link to Ireland, but also give specific reasons why the particular domain they are requesting should belong to them.
