The UK's public service broadcaster has announced plans to launch its own digital assistant software

Plans by the BBC to launch its own rival to Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant have been met with scepticism this week and it’s easy to understand why.

The tool is expected to be called Beeb, because I guess Auntie didn’t work well with test audiences, and will be a purely software play. The upside there is that it massively reduces the rollout cost of such a service.
