A new kind of deal for Eir and AIB

Eir’s €95 million deal with AIB is a sign of things to come across the telecoms business, writes Emmet Ryan

When Eir secured a €95 million deal to provide all of AIB’s telecommunications services, the business didn’t just extend its existing arrangements with the bank. The telco brought the bank’s entire 34 person telecoms team into Eir, making Eir the full provider of design services, solutions, operations, and management for AIB’s telecommunications. The move essentially made Eir into an innovation arm for AIB, a move the telco expects to see occur with more large partners in the months and years to come.
