Gemini Payments, the popular cryptocurrency exchange established by the Winklevoss brothers, has become the first company to be registered as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) by the Central Bank of Ireland.

The designation, which comes four months after Gemini secured an e-money licence from the Irish regulator, means it is now approved to provide crypto services to individuals and institutions locally.
