Web Summit: State warned cold war with Paddy Cosgrave could hurt Irish firms

IDA and Enterprise Ireland weren’t very visible at the Web Summit conference in Rio and one businessman said ‘we should have been flying the flag more’

Given the antagonistic relationship that Web Summit founder Paddy Cosgrave has with official Ireland, it isn’t surprising that there was little sight of the IDA or Enterprise Ireland officials at its conference in Rio.

But several Irish attendees told the Business Post that the state bodies needed to put aside their differences or they would risk jeopardising opportunities for Irish firms in Latin America.
