Web Summit opens with plea to ‘use tech to save lives not to take them’
First lady of Ukraine the keynote speaker as the annual tech-focused conference kicked off in Lisbon
Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine, opened Web Summit on Tuesday evening with a plea to technology be used to save lives rather than to end them.
Zelenska, whose appearance was only announced late in the day due to security concerns, received a standing ovation for her speech in front of thousands of attendees in at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.
