Irish tech workers in the US who have recently lost their jobs amid big lay-offs in the sector are desperately trying to find alternative employment before their visas expire, according to a leading immigration lawyer.

Fiona McEntee, managing attorney of Chicago-based McEntee Law Group, said due to the swift decision to cut jobs across several firms, foreign workers in the US have had little time to secure sponsorship from another employer.
