Data Protection Commission still without senior hires

The government has still not followed up on a pledge to appoint new data protection commissioners

The Data Protection Commission is set to remain under-staffed as at looks to complete a number of high-profile privacy investigations after the State has failed to deliver on a pledge to beef up its senior ranks.

Despite indicating that the process would be completed early in the new year, Ireland hasn’t even advertised for two new data-protection commissioners to join Helen Dixon, currently the agency’s only official at that level.
