The Amazon-owned platform is being sued by a Russian company over illegal streams of English football, and the International Olympic Committee has it in its sights too

Twitch is starting to feel the weight of responsibility. Russia’s third-largest internet business, Rambler Group, is suing the Amazon-owned games streaming platform for a whopping 180 billion roubles (€2.6 billion).

Rambler owns the exclusive broadcast rights to the English Premier League (EPL), and it is alleging those rights were breached by Twitch 36,000 times between August and November alone. Twitch has claimed the case is unfounded, but while it may well be insulated somewhat...
