The sale of a stake in the Guinness Pro 14 to private equity will provide a €40 million boost to Irish rugby, although commercial control of the league may move out of the country.
As revealed by the Business Post last week, Formula One investor CVC has signed to acquire a 27 per cent stake of Celtic Rugby DAC, the Dublin-based Guinness Pro 14 holding company, for around €140 million.
